Kalaingar Dr. M. Karunanidhi Memorial
Waterproofing treatment at the entrance arch and Anna Museum terrace of Kalaingar Memorial on Marina Beach, Chennai.

Amchem was entrusted with the prestigious task of waterproofing critical areas of the Kalaingar Dr. M. Karunanidhi Memorial on Marina Beach, Chennai. This significant cultural monument, referred to as the "first wonder", required specialized treatment to ensure its long-term preservation in the challenging coastal environment.
The project scope encompassed the waterproofing of both the entrance arch terrace and the Anna Museum terrace, covering approximately 1,300 square feet. Our team applied the advanced Drythane Aliphatic Coating system, specifically chosen for its superior resistance to coastal weather conditions and its ability to protect architectural details.
Given the memorial's cultural importance and public visibility, the project demanded exceptional attention to detail and precise execution. Our waterproofing solution was implemented with careful consideration of the structure's architectural aesthetics while ensuring robust protection against water ingress and marine environmental factors.
The successful completion of this project in February 2024 has contributed to the preservation of this important cultural landmark, ensuring that it remains protected for future generations. This project showcases Amchem's capability in handling sensitive cultural projects while delivering superior waterproofing solutions.
