Swami Vivekananda House
Waterproofing treatment at the historic Swami Vivekananda House on Marina Beach Road, Chennai, protecting this cultural landmark from coastal weather.

Amchem had the distinct honor of undertaking the waterproofing restoration of the historic Swami Vivekananda House on Marina Beach Road, Chennai. This prestigious project involved the careful treatment of a structure that holds immense cultural and spiritual significance in the heart of Chennai.
The project presented unique challenges due to the building's historical importance and its proximity to the sea. Our team implemented specialized waterproofing solutions designed to combat the harsh coastal environment while preserving the architectural integrity of this heritage structure. The treatment was meticulously applied over existing ceramic tiles, requiring exceptional attention to detail and careful surface preparation.
Of particular importance was the terrace area, which serves as a sacred space for morning yoga sessions. Our Drythane coating system was specifically chosen for its ability to provide robust protection against both water ingress and coastal weather conditions while maintaining a surface suitable for daily spiritual activities.
The successful completion of this project in August 2021 not only enhanced the building's resistance to weathering but also contributed to the preservation of this important cultural landmark for future generations. This project stands as a testament to Amchem's capability in handling sensitive heritage restoration work while meeting modern waterproofing requirements.
